What is Canine Rehabilitation Therapy? Rehabilitation therapy for animals is the same concept as physical therapy for humans. It includes the diagnosis and management of patients with painful or limiting injuries or illnesses, typically related to musculoskeletal or neurologic conditions. The goals for rehab therapy are variable and depend on the condition and needs of each patient.

Carmen Lu, DVM, CCRT Dr. Lu received her doctorate from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2023. She has a passion for dermatology, integrative medicine, and preventive care - all of which play an important role in providing our patients with the best medical care. When she's not loving on your pet at the hospital, she's spending time with her own little angels, Atom (terrier mix) and Toffee (chihuahua).
